New Moon in Gemini – May 30, 2022

We are in the final week of Mercury Retrograde, nearing the end of the Eclipse Period and in the aftermath of Mars’ ingress into fiery Aries, which activated a mass shooting of school children and two teachers in Texas. The gunman’s 18th birthday was on the May 16 Lunar Eclipse, when he legally bought two semi-automatic weapons, and warrior Mars conjunct Jupiter in Aries on May 24 was the trigger. His natal chart and transits tell the story of this tragic event. We are all feeling the effects of it…

On May 27 Venus squares Pluto, adding intensity to relationship dynamics (passion) – and/or power struggles re: love, conflicting desires, issues around trust, $$, control, power and manipulation. This can bring up buried problems that have been denied, making it fertile ground for breakthroughs with $$, love, integrity and ways of operating, if you’re open to doing work and getting real. Or it can be a painful clash of egos. Don’t go there unless you are ready to do battle and play hardball.

Venus enters its home sign of Taurus from May 28 – June 23 and the focus is on comfort, pleasure, stability, luxury, the body and connecting with nature. Taurus is slow, sensual, practical and Venus rules what you value and how you value your Self, so this is a fabulous time for ultra-care, massage, long walks, flowers, lake house, mountains, whatever is your pleasure, as long as it grounds you. Financial security is another Venus in Taurus feature, so this is a good time to check your books, your budget, your overall $$ status and make needed adjustments, as well as buying and selling after Mercury Retrograde completes.

On May 29 Mars conjoins Jupiter, which is considered to be a positive burst of enthusiastic “can-do” energy that will have you raring to go, ready to start something! However, with this impulsive duo, there are no limits, no brakes to pump, so consider what you’re getting yourself into before you leap. Jupiter amplifies Mars and together they’re on fire, for better or worse.

This can motivate you to take actions where you’ve been stalled or stagnant or inspire you to rise up and move in new ways. The Sun in Gemini will have lots of ideas to add to the party – and hopefully, Venus in Taurus will moderate any risky moves by bringing you down to earth. Since Mercury is still Retrograde, planning and preparing is best for new ventures so you can launch after Mercury turns Direct (June 3).

The New Moon in Gemini on May 30 @ 4:30am PDT is also technically the conclusion of the Eclipse Period (two weeks after the last Eclipse). The New Moon is usually the time for new beginnings, but we are in Mercury Retrograde, so that’s on hold until next week – PLUS, Saturn (a work planet) is Stationing to Retrograde on June 4, which affects forward movement as well. This is a great time to seek information but you don’t have to make final decisions now. It requires patience to wait to take action when you’re hot to trot, but you will be grateful if you do.

You may get mixed signals internally and externally, feeling the urge to go and then being stopped, delayed or losing focus. Don’t worry, nothing is wrong – both trajectories are present: forward drive and the Retrograde undertow, as well as the standstill Station of Saturn.

The New Moon in Gemini is about communication, info, networking and multi-tasking – connecting with others to share ideas and enjoy the stimulation of learning and growing. It is social, light and flexible – and the more the merrier! One thing at a time is boring for Gemini. All the mental processes are highlighted: writing, speaking, thinking, social media, classes and community activities, so allow yourself to be in the flow.

Is there a conversation you need to have, a book you want to write, a workshop you want to take – or create? The New Moon in Gemini is the time to write your intentions and begin something new to launch into the world after Mercury is Direct. Do your research, educate yourself, learn more, make plans and then sit with them to see what new ideas pop up for you.

Mercury is in Taurus on the Lunar Eclipse degree, bringing you back for one last look at anything you need to release, complete or let go of before you move forward again.

So most of the action is during the long weekend, with the New Moon in Gemini taking place on Memorial Day. The rest of the week you are coasting in the New Moon energy with Mercury standing still, Stationing to turn Direct on June 3 and Saturn turning Retrograde on June 4. Not much going on, even with the Mars-Jupiter conjunction, except maybe frustration? We’ll see…

My guidance is to tune in and assess where you are, what you feel called to do and then what actions feel right for you. Trust your inner guidance. Don’t let your mind override your Higher Self (the still, small voice within). Learning to attune to yourself is the way forward.

Drop anything that feels old and stale, don’t overthink things. If you’re in the “spin” cycle, you’re on the wrong track (going over and over something in your head without a resolution) – get off the hamster wheel! That’s a lower expression of Gemini… go to Taurus and connect with your body, nature, your senses and go within to ground yourself.

Remember what’s important. Don’t get your priorities mixed up. Look at your life and see if you practice what you preach by building your life around what you say you value – and if your energy is misaligned, make those course corrections asap!

The wind IS beneath your wings when you have the courage and commitment to take appropriate actions and follow your dreams (your true GPS).

Let’s treasure human life that’s here now. As always, I am grateful for your presence on our journey together. xo
