This New Moon is in the “other”-oriented sign of Libra. The New Moon is about new beginnings – time to take actions toward what you want to create in your life.

Libra is ruled by Venus, planet of love, beauty, and harmony, and the focus is on relationships, your physical presentation, your aesthetic surroundings, balance, money, giving and receiving, creativity, and love, love, love.

Here are some questions for you to ask yourself regarding Libra/Venus issues:

We have a New Moon/Solar Eclipse in the friendly, curious, highly active sign of Gemini on Wed, June 1st – talk about starting the month off with bang!

The New Moon is always the time for new beginnings so be prepared to take  action directed toward what you want to create more of in your life. A Solar Eclipse is like a New Moon on steroids so take advantage of this energy!

Gemini rules information, all forms of communication, networking, education, classes (as teacher or student), workshops, community, the media, contracts, email, your iPad, iPhone, your Blackberry and ground transportation.

Is there a conversation you need to have, a communication you’ve been avoiding or a class you’ve wanted to register for?  Is it time to create or update your website or is there information you need to obtain in order to make a decision?

Are you ready to sign a contract or enter into an agreement? This is a stellar day to take an action that will enable you to move forward (pun intended!).

Do you need to network for business, join a meet-up group to  expand your horizons (business or social), or are you ready for online dating? Are there songs you want to download or are you ready to pursue public speaking?

The Eclipse Period

We have three Eclipses in the coming month:

June 1st – Solar Eclipse @ 11 degrees of Gemini

June 15th – Lunar Eclipse @ 24 degrees of Sagittarius

July 1st – Solar Eclipse @ 9 degrees of Cancer

Emotions run high around eclipses and you can expect the unexpected as well as fated events, so be prepared to be flexible. Eclipses can either clear huge obstacles or manifest potential challenges and things usually happen quickly.

If you’re confronted with an unexpected situation or event, take a moment to assess where you are and let the dust settle, if possible.

There’s a saying, “Don’t just do something, sit there!”  Use that guidance when anxiety triggers you to act prematurely or reactively, which doesn’t serve your highest good.

Please don’t judge events that happen around an Eclipse as “good” or “bad” because you don’t know what the big picture is and know that more will be revealed.

Here is general info about Eclipses so that you’ll recognize the ways they can manifest and how you can work with the energy.

* The energy lasts for about six weeks – you feel it two weeks before the 1st Eclipse (in this case, Solar) and two weeks between the Eclipses, and then two weeks after the last Eclipse (in this case again, Solar)

* Eclipses have a “Uranian” quality – expect sudden changes, unpredictable events, moments of fate and fated events

* Eclipses indicate “unnatural acts” (check the news) – and you may feel unnatural around an Eclipse

* Things may seem out of proportion during an Eclipse

* The story that opened up during the last set of eclipses is in effect until the next one (the last set was in late Dec ’10/early Jan ’11 – what was going on for you then?)

* Themes and issues will be revisited – what has been suppressed or denied in your life for the last six months?  Time to address it!

* Eclipses can bring important contacts into your life – or take people out of your life

* Solar eclipses are about beginnings (New Moons)

* Lunar eclipses are about endings or the culmination of things (Full Moons)

* People may overreact, be overly emotional, tense, and are often controlling due to feelings of powerlessness

* On the day of an eclipse you are “in the dark,” so relax into “easy does it” mode as much as possible

Current Events – April 29th

Although this week we enter the month of May and the New Moon in Taurus late Mon night, we still have a LOT of planets in Aries. This gives us an abundance of fiery, impulsive, red-hot energy flying around, ready to jump into action.

At the same time, it’s opposed by Saturn, the Great Teacher (or strict parent), who requires that you be accountable for the words, actions and structures you create. Thankfully, Saturn is grounding all that Aries fire, so I see the opposition as a good thing.

Think of it as a “reality check,” or being forced to think things through before you take a leap or suffer the consequences if you don’t! Know that when something appears to go/be “wrong,” it’s a message that something is out of alignment and a course correction is needed. Remember you can always “undo/redo” and then do the next right thing.

Moral of the story: The more conscious you are, the less drama there is!

New Moon in Taurus

Late Monday night, early Tuesday morning we have a New Moon in the earthy, sensual, fertile sign of Taurus.

The New Moon is the time for new beginnings – the natural time to begin cycles, as you are supported by the energy that rules the tides of the oceans.

The New Moon is when you would normally take action, but on this New Moon, we go right into a long Moon Void of Course, so you need to wait to take action if you want a successful outcome to occur.

The Moon Void of Course is really affecting how we move these days for those who want to be in alignment with the rhythm of the Universe. I’m so “in it” – and the enforced time to go within and do spiritual, creative and routine activities has been supportive and productive, I must say.

Taurus is the sign that rules values – what you value and how you value yourself, so check in and see if you’re treating yourself as the valued, precious being that you are. Do you honor yourself – does the way you treat yourself indicate that? I hope so. Venus, ruler of Taurus, rules your consciousness around money, prosperity and abundance.

If you find yourself overspending, trying to fill a void by acquiring more, living with a belief in lack or fear regarding money, this is the time to take action to rectify whatever is out of balance in your life relating to money.

Are you a good receiver? Can you accept compliments joyfully without deflecting or complimenting the other person back? Do you ask for help? Are you uncomfortable if someone makes a fuss over you, so you stop them? If the answer is “yes” to any of these questions, then receiving is a spiritual practice for you. Watch yourself and notice if you push things away – materially or energetically – by your discomfort with receiving. If so, practice allowing gifts in, whether they’re compliments, gifts, assistance or small gestures. You can’t receive money or love if you can’t receive! Let people love you by receiving!

Taurus loves physical comfort, good food, it honors the body, sensuality and the earth, so you may want to indulge yourself with a massage, have a fabulous meal, lounge around in bed in the morning (on the good sheets!), take a luxurious bath, get fresh flowers, walk barefoot in the grass or on the beach, or just slow down and relax – this earthy sign is very patient and doesn’t like to rush for any reason.

Take conscious actions and to honor the Taurus New Moon, really practice receiving and feeling pleasure so you can live in balance (yin and yang) and to be in the flow. You are worth it!

This New Moon in strong-willed Aries on April 3rd will be combustible. Six planets in Aries wanting to take off and go, with Saturn in opposition and Pluto squaring the bunch.

Authority and relationship issues feature prominently, as well as potential power struggles and control issues. Easy does it and don’t engage if communications get heated. Just let it go for now… step out and reconnect if necessary when everyone calms down.

You may be impatient to move forward but you will likely encounter obstacles or speed bumps that slow you down. If you become annoyed or frustrated as plans are delayed, practice restraint and flexibility for best results and fewer problems to rectify later.

Mercury is Retrograde  so your patterns of thinking, communicating, your learning and everything about the way you move through life are up for review during this three week period. Make good use of this opportunity to fine tune and uplevel your expression in the world.

Jupiter, planet of expansion connects with the Sun/Moon combo, urging you to jump into the next big idea or to take on MORE but be mindful, as the Great Teacher, Saturn, is opposing those three planets making you accountable for every move you make. Consciousness is key in order to avoid drama.

And, since Mercury is Retrograde, none of the new plans are going to fall into place without constant tweaking and extra work, so don’t overdo it in your enthusiasm.

The Aries New Moon is the traditional time to make your Treasure Map – or Vision Board of what you want to create this year.  If you want an activity to focus your nonlinear energy on this weekend, create your vision for the year either by making art, music, playing in nature or by journaling.

We have the last New Moon of the astrological year in mystical, intuitive Pisces. I call this “Orchid” energy – very delicate and beautiful, requiring extra special care.

The New Moon is   an opportunity to begin again, so in Pisces, tap into the Oneness of All That Is and envision your dreams.

This is the time to take action to begin any new projects you have planned, as the energy will be accelerating in the next few weeks. Do something within the next 24 hours to initiate actions for new beginnings.

With seven of ten planets in the emotional waters of Pisces, it’s important to go with the flow and allow for clearings that need to take place in preparation for the high energy arrivals that are coming as the month progresses.

By next Friday (March 11th), Uranus enters Aries and watch the changes begin! This can either be pioneering-type innovations or rebellious acts of will (in your personal life  or in the world), so move consciously.

At 3am Eastern, we have a Lunar Eclipse at 29 degrees Gemini. which is an exponentially more powerful Full Moon, which is about endings and the culmination of things.

Mercury is traveling over the Galactic Center (the Black Hole, center of the Milky Way), which is a portal for higher frequencies and powerful forces of expansion. It connects exactly the weekend of Dec 18, right before the Lunar Eclipse.

Stay tuned for downloads, new insights, perceptions, or information to appear that will alter your path in perhaps momentous ways.

Over the next few weeks changes are in store for everyone – how major they are depends on where the eclipses fall in your chart and if they connect with your planets directly.

Sagittarius is the “truthteller” or teacher/preacher who rules higher truth, the meaning of life, spirituality, law, religion, belief systems, philosophy, higher education, ideals, ethics, publishing, broadcasting, long journeys, foreign travel, other cultures, social causes, politics, adventure and expansion.
